51PAT - A patch to remove flickering night lights

The standard FS scenery textures include a few coloured pixels that FS displays as flickering night lights. You might like this effect -- or you might hate the flickering, unsteady look they create.

51PAT is a software "patch" that actually modifies certain standard texture files, to remove those flickering white and orange dots. It will save the original files as *.BAK files, so it will be easy to bring those lights back again if you want to. You have a choice of whether you want to remove (1) flickering white lights from farmland; (2) flickering orange lights from farmland; (3) flickering white lights from cities; or (4) all of the above.

This little patch works only with FS 5.1 and was created by the FSWG scenery design group, perhaps best known for their commercial Hong Kong scenery.

Note: See TILES.ZIP for a graphical illustration of all scenery textures, with annotations as to which ones include flickering night lights.
