    1. REGISTRATION

      After having obtained the Jet Aircraft Falcon Rating at the PJA Training Center in Shimojishima Island, the Pilot shall perform the Aircraft Type Qualification check flight for the type of aircraft at his/her own choice.

      When the Pilot has obtained the password in proof of the success at the end of check flight, he/she shall register themselves with the PJA Crew Administration Division by posting the registration information in the following manner.

      Where to post:

      • Nifty : Forum 16, FFS
      • INTERNET : Bulletin board of HP, Crew Administration Division

      How to post:

      @ATR,name,address,type,password

      • @ATR is the INDICATOR of report filed by the pilot who succeeded in obtaining the Aircraft Type Certificate,
      • name can either be a handle name of real one
      • address is the one usable through the Internet
        ( e.g. ABC12345@nifty.ne.jp )
      • type is the Aircraft Type (e.g. B767 B747, etc)
      • password is the code given at tne end of check flight (e.g. T03534372)
        ( e.g. @ATR,myname,abc12345@nifty.ne.jp,B767,T03534372)

      When the registration is acknowledged and accepted, the pilots will receive the Pilot ID, together with the code list for the checkride on the adventure routes of the PJA network, via E-mail.

      When the registered pilots is desirous of transition to the other type of aircraft, he/she shall perform the check flight of the type in question, and when the transition is successful, the registration for the new type of aircraft shall be made in due course, in addition to the original registration. Such additional registration shall be made in the same manner as to what has been done for the original registration, except the name where the Pilot ID shall be used, instead.

    2. PILOT ID

      PILOT Identification Number will be given to those pilots whose registrations are completed and acknowledged by the Crew Administration Division of PJA. Crew Administration Control will be performed by using these PILOT Idenficiation Numbers.

      • Issuing Authority - PJA Crew Administration Div.
        Notification will be made either in the Nifty forum 16, or Bulletin
        Board of HP, Crew Administration Division, in each instance.

      • ID format
        Number of character: maximum 8 half-characters

        First and Second:
        PN: is used for Pilot who made a registration through Nifty.
        PW: is used for Pilot who made a registration through internet.
        PE: is used for Executive Staff, including instructor pilots of PJA, PJAM and PJCC.
        PJ: is used for the adiministrative members of Headquarter.

        Third to Sixth:
        Year and month of employment, YYMM.
        e.g. 9811

        Seventh to Eighth:
        01 through 99, on the basis of "first come, first served".
        In case of more than 99, then A1, A2, etc, may have to be used.

    3. COCKPIT CREW RATING

      All Pacific Japan Airways Pilots shall be ranked according to their logged flight hours of each type of aircraft.

      Actual flight hour accumulated while in the engagement of the commuter operations may, only for the first time, be accounted as the logged flight hours when the pilot is desirous of re-qualification for the higher rating of the Heavy Jet Aircraft.

      For instance, a captain of the commuter aircraft having 46 flight hours will be eligible for the check flight of the B767 First Flight Officer. The check flight will be performed using the criteria of the regular periodical check flight. In the event of failure, the pilot will be given the rating of the Flight Officer.

    4. ROUTE ASSIGNMENT

      Pilots may select any of the company approved route for the flight assignment at their own discretion,

      Company Approved Route is defined as follows.

      Category F route (Adventure route) --- CAT-F LINE
      Category N route (Non-adventure route) --- CAT-N LINE

    5. CONDUCT OF THE FLIGHT

      The pilot shall conduct assigned flight along the route selected, and when the flight is accomplished, the Post Flight Report shall be submitted in the format, described below. Note that the report does not needed to be isolated and the report with multiple flights is accepted.
      Comma shall be used to separate the each item.

      • @Pilot ID
      • Date of flight
      • Route number
      • Aircraft type,
      • Actual flight hours
      • Coefficient for the conversion of flight time.
      • Number of passengers.
      • Password, as given at the end of flight (CAT-F LINE only)

        Example:

      PjCAT-F route assignment

      When CAT-F LINE is assigned and flown, FLIGHT TIME, COEFFICIENT for the conversion of flight time and Number of Passengers will be displayed at the end of adventure flight. However, flight time shall not exceed the maximum flight time applicable to the respective CAT-F route.

      Even if acutual flight time exceeds the maximum flight time, the given flight time will be limited to the maximum, and 1.0 or more will be given as the COEFFICIENT at the end of adventure flight.

      (Note: Maximum flight time stipulated in this paragraph is defined as the sum of standard flight time stated in the timetable and 0.5 hours.)

      Qj CAT-N route assignment:

      Termination of the flight:

      When the flight is conducted as planned, and an aircraft has blocked-in at the tarmac after safe landing at the destination.

      Actual flight time:
      Actual flight time is defined as a time from block-off at the origination until block-in at the destination. This shall always be rounded down to the nearest 0.25 hours(i.e. 15 minutes).
      Moreover, it shall never exceed the maximum flight time (see Note in the above paragraph) applicable to the respective CAT-N route. When the flight is unavoidably paused, the duration of pause shall never be counted as the flight time in the report.

      Coefficient for the Flight time conversion, Number of passengers and password:
      A numerical default value will be made available in advance for each item.

    6. PROMOTION (amended by Rev.4)

      When the logged flight time of the pilot reaches the minimum requirement for the upper rating, the pilot in desirous of the higher rating may apply for the promotion. The promotion check flight shall be conducted by the Aircraft Type Qualification check flight for the type of aircraft to which he/she belongs, and the resulted code given at the end of adventure by the program shall be reported using the following format to the Flight Crew Administration Division.

      @CHKRIDE : INDICATOR of report filed by the pilot who has passed the promotion check.

      Promotion to the Captain will be approved by the company, when the pilot having 200 hours or more of flight time has passed the Captain promotion check flight, or an applicable Aircraft Type Qualification check flight in the absence of the former check flight.

      Promotion to the Senior Captain will be acknowledged by the company, when the pilot who is the administrative member of the company and having 500 hours or more of flight time has applied for the position and approved by the Board of Directors.

    7. PERIODICAL CHECK FLIGHT

      Semiannually, all pilots shall undertake the periodical check flight. It shall be conducted by the Aircraft Type Qualification check flight for the Falcon or the type of aircraft to which he/she does not belong, and having the least flight time. This is the type of check which shall be performed on the pilot's own initiative and self-trained basis. Thus, the pilot will not be informed of the periodical check flight status by the company. However, after having completed the periodial check flight, all pilots are encouranged to post his/her comments at BBS of Flight Crew Training Center. (Forum 15 of Nifty, or the Pilotroom of INET).

    8. DISCHARGE (amended by Rev. 3)

      In absence of the post flight report for the duration of one month, and the leave of absence has not been requested, the Crew Aministrative Division will ask for his/her intention in the forum 15 at the beginning of the following month. In response to this inquiry, the pilot shall promptly verify his/her intention by posting the comment [ WILL CONTINUE ] , to be followed at least one post flight report within the following month. Alternatively, when the leave of absence is needed, it shall be submitted in due course. In case of non-response from the pilot in question within the following one month, he/she shall be dismissed, and the registered information of this personnel shall be void. The pilot being discharged will be eligible for the re-employment after three months have been elapsed, in which case the status and rank may be re-validated.

    9. LEAVE OF ABSENCE

      Any pilot who finds himself/herself incapable of performing his/her flight duty for more than one month, the leave of absence for maximum 3 months will be granted by the company. The application for LOA shall be filed with the Personnel Div, as well as the Crew Administrative Div, in which the date of resumption of duty shall be spcified.
      LOA duration can be prolonged by filing another application for LOA, if the resumption at the date specified appears impracticable. The resumption of duty before the date specified is acceptable, in which case the comapny shall be duly notified. When LOA is granted, all his/her status will be retained as it is until the resumption of employment is asked for. If no resumtion is made at the date specified, he/she shall be discharged.
