If an IRU loses alignment in flight, the IRU cannot be restored.
もし IRU はフライトのアライメントをロスする場合は IRU は修復できません
The pilot can select a different IRU source for the EADI/EHSI by using the INST SOURCE SELECT switches along the left side of the panel.
パイロットはパネルの左側の INST SOURCE SELECT スイッチを使って EADI/EHSI のための違う IRU ソースを選択することができます
The FMC handles IRS faults automatically.
FMC は IRS が故障した場合は自動的に切替を行います

The pilot can attempt to restore attitude and heading information from any IRU that has lost alignment by placing the IRU selector switch to the ATT position.
パイロットは個々の IRU セレクトスイッチを ATT ポジションにして、アライメントをロスしているそれぞれの IRU からの姿勢とヘディングの情報の復帰を試みることができます
This is the called the “attitude” mode.
これは "attitude" ( 姿勢 ) モードと呼ばれています
The EADI attitude ball will be restored automatically in the ATT mode.
EADI 姿勢ボールは ATT モードで自動的に修復されます
However, to get heading information the pilot must enter the current magnetic heading into the IRS keypad to allow the IRU
to generate heading information on the EHSI.
しかしながら、ヘディング情報を得るにはパイロットは IRS キーパッドで EHSI に表示されているヘディング情報から現在の磁方位ヘディングを入力しなければなりません
With the IRU in the ATT mode the heading information can be displayed in the ILS and VOR EHSI modes or by reference to the heading “carrot” on the MAP display, if available.
ATT モードの IRU のヘディング情報は ILS と VOR EHSI モードまたはもし可能であればマップ表示上のキャロットでヘディングを参照し表示することができます

Over time it is normal for the IRS position to “drift” from actual aircraft position.
いつもは普通は IRS ポジションは飛行機の現在位置からドリフトしています
To minimize the effects of IRS drift the FMC uses the average of the three IRU positions.
IRS ドリフトの最小の効果のため FMC は 3 つの IRU ポジションの平均を使用します
Additionally, the FMC updates its position using VOR/DME when the VOR/DME switch is in AUTO and suitable NAV signals are received.
加えて、FMC は VOR/DME スイッチが AUTO になっていて、適当な NAV 信号を受信している場合はそのポジションを VOR./DVE を使ってアップデートします
If the IRS position and the FMC calculated position differ you will get an FMC message to check your position.
もし IRS ポジションと FMC が計算したポジションが異なる場合は FMC メッセージでポジションをチェックするよう表示されます

Another phenomenon to be aware of is called a “map shift”.
別の現象として "map shift" と呼ばれています
If the IRS position is incorrect and is used by the FMC (when no VOR/DME update is available) the map display will show the aircraft in the wrong position.
もし IRS ポジションが不正確で、使用している場合は FMC （ VOR/DME のアップデートの可能性が無い時） はマップディスプレイは飛行機を変な場所に表示します
If a map shift has occurred, the EHSI map display and LNAV will be incorrect because the FMC is generating information based on the incorrect IRS position.
もしマップシフトが起こっている場合は EHSI マップ表示と LNAV は不正確になります。なぜならば FMC は不正確な IRS ポジションを元にして情報を作っているからです
Pilots must be always aware of their actual position to guard against a map shift, especially when in the IRS NAV ONLY mode.
パイロットはマップシフトを見張り、特に IRS NAV ONLY モードの時はいつも現在位置を意識していなければなりません
