LATERAL MODES
水平モード

Lateral modes are selected to control aircraft heading.
水平モードは飛行機のヘディングをコントロールするために選択されます
The lateral modes are: Heading Hold, Heading Select, Lateral Navigation (LNAV), Localizer, Approach and Back Course.
水平モード：ヘディングホールド、ヘディングセレクト、水平ナビゲーション ( LNAV )、ローカライザー、アプローチ、バックコース
There is also a bank limiting system that can be used to set the maximum bank angle the AFDS commands during turns.
AFDS の制御による旋回において最大バンク角を選択することができるバンクの制限システムもあります

The most basic modes are the Heading Hold (HDG HOLD) and Heading Select (HDG SEL) modes.
もっとも基本的なモードはヘディングホールド ( HDG HOLD ) モードとヘディングセレクト ( HDG SEL ) モードです
The Heading Hold mode is selected by pressing the HOLD button directly below the heading select knob.
ヘディングホールドモードはヘディング選択ノブにある HOLD ボタンを押すことで選択されます
When pressed, the AFDS commands you to roll out on present aircraft heading.
押した時、AFDS は現在の飛行機の状態を水平にし、ヘディングを保持します
Selection of HOLD has no effect on the heading in the heading window.
HOLD を選択するとヘディングウィンドウのヘディングには影響されません
The Heading Select mode is selected by pressing on the SEL knob just below the heading window.
ヘディング選択モードはヘディングウィンドウの SEL ノブを押すことによって選択されます
When selected, the HDG SEL mode commands the aircraft to fly to the heading listed in the heading window.
HED SEL モードは選択されるとヘディングウィンドウに表示されているヘディングに向かって飛ぶように命令を出します
The aircraft continuously flies to any new heading dialed into the heading window.
ヘディングウィンドウのダイアルを合わせることにより絶え間無く飛行機は新しいヘディングに向かって飛ぶようになります

Lateral Navigation is made possible by programming a route into the FMC.
水平ナビゲーションは FMC のルートプログラミングにより可能となります
Once a route is programmed into the FMC and displayed on the EHSI, LNAV can be engaged to intercept and track the desired route.
いったん FMC でプログラムされたルートは EHSI 上に表示され、LNAV が望むルートをたどることができるようになります
LNAV has two modes of operation: armed and active.
LNAV の 2 つの操作モード：アームドとアクティブ
When LNAV is armed, the AFDS continues to fly using the currently active lateral mode until intercepting the programmed route.
LNAV がアームドの時は AFDS は現在のアクティブな水平モードを使ってプログラムされたルートにインターセプトするまでフライトを続けます
Then LNAV becomes active upon intercepting the route and controls aircraft heading to maintain the necessary course.
LNAV はルートをインターセプトしてアクティブになると、飛行機のヘディングを必要なコースを維持するようにコントロールします

Localizer (LOC) mode has two modes: armed and active.
ローカライザー ( LOC ) モードの 2 つのモード：アームドとアクティブ
When LOC is armed, the plane stays in its previous lateral mode until intercepting the localizer.
LOC がアームドのときはローカライザーがインターセプトするまで、以前の水平モードを保持します
When the localizer is intercepted, the LOC mode becomes active and the aircraft heading is adjusted to maintain the localizer course.
ローカライザーがインターセプトすると、LOC モードはアクティブになり、飛行機のヘディングはローカライザーコースを維持するように調整されます

The Approach (APP) mode is similar to the LOC mode except that with APP mode you get both localizer and glideslope (GS) tracking.
アプローチ ( APP ) モードは LOC モードと同じように働きますが、APP モードはローカライザーとグライドスロープ ( GS ) にも乗ることができます
When the APP button is pressed, both the LOC and GS tracking modes are armed.
APP ボタンが押されると LOC と GS の両方のトラッキングモードがアームドになります
The previous lateral and vertical modes remain engaged until capture of the LOC and GS respectively.
以前の水平モードと垂直モードが LOC と GS それぞれをキャプチャーするまでのこります

The Back Course mode (BCRS) is exactly the same as the LOC mode except that, when engaged, it tracks inbound on a localizer back course approach.
バックコースモード ( BCRS ) はローカライザーのバックコースアプローチにインバウンドしてエンゲージすることを除き LOC モードとまったく同じです
But remember to set the localizer front course into the NAV CRS window to get proper course guidance.
しかし適切なコースの案内をさせるためには NAV CRS ウィンドウにはフロントからのコースをローカライザーに設定することを覚えておいてください
